Door Swap is an instructional drawing piece, where two occupants begin by trading measurements of their entrance doors, and later superimposing those measurements onto their doors with masking tape. The drawings should tilt based on how far each occupant is from each other relative to the earth’s curvature. Occupants can then feel the physicality and orientation of each other’s location every time they enter and exit.
This piece was first executed in January 2021 with my dad in Taiwan and myself in Toronto. The distance was 12,204 km with a 70-degree angle.
